So relaxation techniques for kids should be given the importance that it deserves.
Mostly, children should be allowed to deep breathe as the basic exercise, since they are not mature enough to cope up with other techniques. A few techniques that can be followed include:
1. Simplicity: When teaching kids about relaxing techniques, it is important to show it to them physically, rather than just saying how to do it. This will make the child appreciate the manner of doing it.
So instead of asking them to deep breathe using the diaphragm, when they don’t know what a diaphragm is, you can ask them to imagine the smell of scent at a distance and try deep breathing. Also, parallels can be drawn with those sensations which they can relate to, like toys. (more…)

Simple Savvy Shopping Tips March 18, 2008
Posted by Health Mama in : Money Matters , comments closedWhen it comes to shopping, hubby is more expert than me. He is quite a savvy shopper because he can get the most for our money. Sometimes that means paying full price for something that is just right.
Other times it is searching for sales or bargains, especially for clothing, aprons or accessories.
And sometimes it means receiving offers for furniture and accessories at discount furniture prices through a furniture catalog. Specials and discounts do help save some bucks here and some bucks there.
It also means getting creative by shopping in non-traditional places such as used furniture stores, consignment stores, flea markets, antique shows, country fairs, and auctions.
Quick Test to Check Your Own Bad Breath March 14, 2008
Posted by Health Mama in : Dental Care , comments closedHere’s a way to find out how your own breath smells: Cup your hands around your mouth, breathe forcefully into them, and take a whiff. (ehw..)If you think it smells bad, it probably smells dreadful to others.
In brief, halitosis or bad breath is easily recognised as unpleasant odour in the breath.It is caused by:
1>> Poor dental hygiene;
2. Dietary habits (oopps..I like eating curry);
3. Tooth or gum disease (When was the last time I went for my dental checkup ? Gosh..April,2006 !);
4. Illnesses such as diabetes, liver disease and lung disease.
The culprits of bad breath are the millions of bacteria that live in the mouth.
My Worst Sleeping Event March 14, 2008

You are going to read some of my buddies and my creepy and funny sleeping incidents. From nightmares,
1. Eeeeeeeccckkkkk !!!
” I was travelling with my sister to Singapore from Penang by bus one night. we had no choice but to take seats at the end of the bus. The 10-hour journey was real bumpy ride. I couldn’t sleep well at all. The seats could not be lowered down. Plus, small cockroaches were roaming around us. Needless to say, I had deep dark rings around my eyes the next morning that would be my first and last ride ever ! ”
2. Overslept
“Being so tired after camping, I slept through the day as soon as I reached my bed.When I woke up,the clock on the desk showed “7:00″. Immediately, I jumped off the bed,hastily put on my school uniform.
‘Oh no!Why didn’t Mom wake me up? I’ll be late for school!’
Then, my Mom woke in with a surprised look on her face. ‘What are you doing, Sara ?’ she said. ‘It’s only seven o’clock in the evening!’”
3. Goosebumps
“Once I was sound asleep, and I suddenly awoke because I felt very cold. I also felt something heavy pressing on my body. I tried to scream for help but no sound came out. I was aware of what was happening and tried to reach for my talisman, which I carry with me for protection. Then, I heard my husband saying something and the heaviness that I felt was gone.”
