After Staying Financially Healthy, Buy Bathroom Vanities January 26, 2008

While shopping online for bar stools for my hubby, I came across some bathroom vanities such as wood sink vanities which come in square, round , double-sink and a lot more.

Hubby and I have decided that once we fully settle our credit card debts, we can think of renovating our old wooden house.

Wood furniture and home decor have always been our first choice due to their classic taste and natural aroma.

After Staying Financially Healthy, Invest In Real Estate Or Properties January 26, 2008

Since our debt reduction, we have been advised to make more money, pay off our debts and save more for emergency funds or investments simultaneously. We shouldn’t just focus on paying off our credit card debts without saving any money for rainy day.

If it were before our debt reduction, we would tell you my motto, “Borrow Now. Pay Back, Whenever”. We didn’t even bother about the age old saying “Save For Rainy Days”.

But of course, we have learned our lesson the hard way. We are now working hard to pay off our credit card debts, little by little. At the same time, we are also saving money for emergency funds or investments.

We would love to invest in real estate or properties after we stay financially healthy because they tend to be less volatile than shares.

Reading and doing research on real estate market is one of our hobbies now. It’s fun reading both local and overseas real estate markets such as Wilmington real estate.

Health Is Wealth For The Elderly, Thus Healthy Gifts Are Great New Year Gifts January 25, 2008

Chinese New Year is only 2 weeks away. Time to shop for new year gifts, goodies and clothes.

Hubby has bought some volcom clothing for himself while I may wait until last minute

I am still cracking my head as to what I should buy for the elderly this year. Healthy gifts, of course. I guess health food and products are great gifts for the elderly. Health is wealth.

Shop For Body Shop Supplies, Not The Body Shop January 22, 2008

When hubby told me that he was shopping for some body shop supplies, I was surprised. What was he doing  at The Body Shop ? He never had his shopping at The Body Shop before that.

Out of curiosity, I had a peek at what item he was actually looking for at The Body Shop. To my surprise again, it’s not The Body Shop that sells skin care products. He was actually browsing through some body shop supplies at HandsOnTools.com.

Apparently, hubby was busy searching for some automotive tools, air tools or mechanics tools. They also offer a wide variety of shop equipment like welding equipment, air compressors and generators.

Relieve Stress In Healthy Ways January 20, 2008

Life is full of surprises and not all of them are good. Life’s little events can often cause stress, anxiety and a bad case of the blues. The holidays are often a rollercoaster of emotions, bringing out our best and, sometimes, our worst.

Then there are the unexpected surprises — losing a job, moving to a new city, contracting an illness, trying to speed up North Carolina land for sale and other events, big and small that test our mental strength.

Unfortunately, we can’t predict the future, but we can find ways to relieve stress in healthy ways. One of the best ways to work out the stress and pull yourself out of the dumps is to move your body.

When we feel down or depressed, we look for things that make us feel good. Often, we reach for the wrong things — food, alcohol, sleep or drugs which only make us feel worse instead of better.

Rather than reaching for the chocolate when you’re stressed, think of something you enjoy doing…something that feels good to you. It might be working in the garden, taking a slow bike ride or taking a walk with a friend.

Think of activities you like but rarely allow yourself time to do then commit to doing them as often as you can. Rhythmic activities like walking, raking leaves or even cleaning can be healing exercises — as your body gets into it’s own rhythms, you can let your mind go and work out problems, find solutions or just daydream for awhile.

I find that doing yoga and meditation is great when it comes to relieving stress. I am under a lot of pressure recently due to my hubby’s new job and mine.

To reduce stress, I make sure that I practice yoga daily and do meditation whenever I can. To encourage me to practice diligently, hubby shopped secretly online and ordered a few yoga tank tops and pants for me ! What a surprise !

As for himself, he bought some travel gear such as travel backpacks and money belts.
