‘Just Say No’ To Avoid Damaging Your Waistline

You don’t want any of my Black Forest cake?” , “You’ve always loved my cake. Come on, it’s a special occasion.” Do these scenarios seem familiar to you?

You don’t have to let this situation cause you to over-eat. By being diplomatic about how you “just say no” you can avoid both causing hurt feelings and doing damage to your waistline.

Be Honest. Talk to family and friends about your weight loss efforts. If your family’s idea of a get-together always centers on a meal, they’re going to find out anyway; if your friends always meet at restaurants, it’s going to come up.

Make it clear to those around you that you are going to be dieting and keeping a close eye on portion sizes. Explain that by saying no you’re not trying to offend anyone, but it’s important for you to keep a close eye on what and how much you eat.

In time, your friends and family will probably be so proud of your progress they’ll realize that it’s easier for you to stay on track if they don’t offer you treats or always have get-togethers around food.
