You actually need more muscle work when you are slumping. Poor posture not only makes you look tired, it affects digestion and blood circulation as well, meaning that your body isn’t getting the oxygen and nutrients to function healthily.
And if you are not getting enough sleep, standing tall is even more critical. Maintaining good posture helps sleep-deprived subjects battle exhaustion.
Try to be more conscious of your posture - once in a while, stand up and keep your abdomen lifted, shoulders back and down, and chin tucked in. And when you are at your desk, avoid bending forward or slouching down.
